How to download and install Sound Drivers

Drivers, Windows XP Home Edition* Windows XP Media Center Edition* Windows. Linux* (Novell* 9 Service Pack 2) audio driver for Intel® Desktop Boards.

I just wanted to see if any of you knew if that was certain.
If not, what are some compatible sound cards.
I have the same type of Sound Card.
Vista installed drivers for it.
However, it pretty much only works for me when windows boots.
Other than that I get no sound.
Not through Media Center or Windows Media.
I can't even get the windows sounds to work.
So I'm looking at a Creative Labs sound card now.
If you found anything out.
Regards Brave01Heart I have a soundmax and it makes awful distorted sounds on playback with Vista.
I think the drivers are just very buggy and break easily.
Some people are lucky, but many people can't get this adapter to soundmax audio driver windows xp sp2 />I have an M-audio Delta, soundmax audio driver windows xp sp2 Soundmax, and an old Creative Audigy that I put back in my system to get sound.
The only one of these three that works is the Audigy Vista drivers available at creative.
Don't get an X-fi, they are not really any better and have had lots of problems.
You said that the drivers for the Audigy are available from Creative?
It is not fully tested and provides limited functionality.
There is no technical support for this driver.
Do not install this driver for critical tasks.
Just follow the prompts to find it.
Keep your systems connected to the internet and turn on Windows update.
The drivers will get downloaded for you automatically.
It will be a recommended update in the list.
I read several post here about the sound problem.
I too had a red X by my speaker icon and no sound.
It did no good; my system would not recognize the driver.
The error message from the red X continued to say I had no Audio device loaded.
They stated that there was not yet a driver out for Vista.
You gotta love those Indian guys.
I went to the driver section so I could look at the list to draw from.
When I was brought to the next screen there were two drivers to choose from.
I saw my driver and tried that one.
Rats, it still did not solve the problem.
The red x went away from my speaker icon which was progress but still no sound.
The system told me to reboot.
I did… and gentlemen, I had sound.
My music never sounded so good.
I believe the problem is that if your system thinks you have the correct driver, it does not reload it.
But by changing drivers then going back to the original driver, soundmax audio driver windows xp sp2 forced the system to re-load it.
Who knows, after all, I am soundmax audio driver windows xp sp2 a certified geek Just a closet geek.
Tim Hello, I just purchased my pc a few days ago.
I too have had a few little problems with this issue.
Thankfully my mobo provider is on top of things.
I don't know if this is of any use.
That part is a pain in the backside.
But seems to be related to a bug the beta.
I have to reinstall the drivers every time i want to use the microphone.
I did notice that when one option in the speaker panel drops off the list my microphone no longer works.
All the microphone business aside the sound works just fine minimal distortion and such.
I am in similar situation and it drives me crazy.
I tried to install it with and without enabling the onboard sound card.
Both times after I installed the driver and tried to play some music, it only had buzzing sound.
The computer also rebooted over and over again.
When I checked the device manager, it said the sound card was working properly.
I wonder whether it's the problem with the beta driver.
Is there anyone having this problem?
I am in a dilema that I don't know what to do.
Should I return the Delta 1010 and install my old Audigy 2 to this new pc?
Or should I keep the Delta 1010 and wait for another driver for 64bit pc?
You know M-Audio is one of the companies selling professional sound equipment and the beta driver was released one and a half years ago.
Should it have a more stablised driver for 64bit pc?
Thanks WalletGibbons holate cuento lo que hice y me funciono, meti el cd de drivers del mother, que sirven para windows xp, hice click derecho sobre el archivo setup.
After that its going to give you a combo drop menu with codecs in it.
Change the codecs to something else and hit apply it might give you a warning message.
That should fix the problem instead of you having to keep restarting your computer to get sound for 10-30 minutes then losing it all.
At least it worked for me anyway.
Use the X64 Driver only if you have WinX64 Normal version is Win32 - X86 For this version just use the Original X86 - Win32 Driver.
I upgrade from xp to vista and every thing work fine, before i did a fresh install to vista and my tv card and soundmax card did not work i think its best to do a upgrade now everything works for me Hello People, There is a Soundmax Driver for Vista.
My email: I hope i've been helpfull for some people now.
Ask me for the driver and enjoy your vista sound.
Hi Schnadam, I did your solution and it worked!
The only issue i'm having is that i cannot play any streaming video off the web.
It just doesn't play it gets stuck at like 1 second.
Do you know how to resolve this?
For example i have tried to watch You Tube videos, trailers and none of them play.
Tim, I had a similar problem with a Lenovo X61 tablet.
Spent over an hour with their tech support folks, to no avail.
I've spent hours trying to fix this, trying many different methods to uninstall and reinstall the device driver.
Finally found your post, which fixed it right off.
Actually, what worked for me was to use the High Definition Audio Device driver that generated the warning message!
Thanks very much for posting this!
I'm having the issue where im stuck on 2.
I tried the latest beta version driver, the one that came with my mobo install cd and several others i found on Asus and they either Gave no sound or were stuck on 2.
Anyone have any new suggestions on how to solve the problem?
Ok, I'm not technologically savvy as most people, but I've been having the same problems as most.
Installed Vista and Soundmax suddenly wasn't working for me.
I tried to explain as best as I could!
I know how frustrating it was for me, so I can imagine what others are going through!!!!
I had the same problem when I did a hot install to revitalize Vista Ultimate, the sound driver was nowhere!
I too have had a few little problems with this issue.

Can you record or edit audio files?
My sound works also but I cannot do the one thing that I really need to do with Vista.
There aren't any drivers for Recording.
I just wanted to see if any of you knew if that was certain.
If not, what are some compatible sound cards.
My supremefx 2 audio card isnt even recognised by windows add hardware wizard and wont let me install the soundmax drivers as they are not compatible with my computer hardware.
Ive looked everywhere for some help on this and cant find any!

Tim With my Asus Striker Extreme mobo and Vista x64 I've been trying to solve the exact same issue during the last week.
I needed the device to use the optical output so I can use my digital reciever.
However, over and over again I've been trying the above solution by Tim, all sorts of drivers I could look up, reinstalling Vista, going nuts, giving up, only to repeat the cycle.
Until a few minutes ago I was almost certain that I had to go out and buy a new sound board to make my setup work but I finally managed to solve this problem.
I hope this can spare alot of you out there for all of those gray hairs I evolved during this 'decrypting' week.

Christian Hi Christian, I'm trying desperately to connect my asus p5k premium to my receiver through the optical digital output with no luck at all for a couple of days now.
Could you give me more details on 'I simply disabled the analog device'?
Even if it's the dumbest thing, please tell me what I'm missing!
Thanks for now and good luck to all of us, 'cause since there's no word from Analaog Device nor Microsoft I think we're quite alone on this.
Hey, I have a soundmax intergrated digital hd sound card on the computer i duel boot vista and xp, on xp the sound works perfectly but on vista there is no sound, i have gone into device manger and tried to update the driver automatically but it comes up as saying the driver is up to date, if anyone could offer me some advice or a fix i would be greatly appreciative.
I guess you have either solved the puzzle yourself by now or you've bought a new sound board.

Before I had the earlier above driver - and that one worked also - however I 'think' if I remember correct that this version solved some issues.
Anyhow - it is worth a try especially you guys who write about mic problems - I have absolutely 'nada' of such problems P.
This is political problem not technical.
I have dell 8400 and i have Windows 7.
Above link works 100% with Windows 7, provided you follow the steps as indicated by tim!
